A fascinating glimpse into the dawn of recorded sound, this lot features two early 20th-century Edison Blue Amberol phonograph cylinders manufactured by Thomas A. Edison, Inc. in Orange, New Jersey. Made of durable celluloid with a plaster core. The first cylinder, numbered 4908, features “Radio—Fox Trot & Song” performed by the Atlantic Dance Orch., while the second, numbered 4870, features “Mr. Radio Man” performed by Margaret Freer. Both cylinders come with boxes with no lids. Both cylinders are in good stable condition with no visible damage, showing only minor age-appropriate surface wear. H 4.5″, W 2.25″, D 2.25″.
