Vintage US Navy Maritime Binnacle Ship Compass, WWII Mark 2 boat compass dating back to 1941/43, manufactured by the Lionel Corporation in New York, Serial #4720, reads “U.S. Navy” in center, utilizes a “wet” floating card submerged in a mixture of alcohol and distilled water or refined oil to dampen vibrations and steady the card against the rocking motion of the ship, heavy clouding and internal staining, central float shows paint loss, missing storage box, gimbal ring, binnacle balls, in as-found condition, see photos. 5 1/8″ diameter
