Underwood No. 5 Standard Desktop Typewriter, manufactured by the Underwood Typewriter Company between 1900 and early 1930s, known as the “Model T of typewriters” due to its popularity and durability, front-ro, front-strike visible layout, glossy black cast iron frame, gold lettering decals, circular glass key segments and a dual-color ribbon mechanism, Serial # 1978179-5, typical age-related dust, grime and surface dullness, keys are intact, spacebar shows some discoloration, carrying degrees of oxidation, tarnish and minor pitting, some dust build-up causing keys to stick or return sluggishly, fair to good condition.
