Lot 2488:
Description
This collection features a high-carbon steel “True Edge” butcher knife manufactured by the Ontario Knife Co. in the USA, featuring a pinned wood handle and a blade with a rich, aged patina. The set is accompanied by a masterfully beaded leather belt and sheath, both decorated with hand-strung, character-rich glass seed beads in traditional geometric motifs and accented by steel tinkler cones. Notably, the beads are uneven in size and shape, which is a hallmark of vintage glass “seed” beads rather than modern uniform plastic. The lot is rounded out by a long-fringed beaded pouch and two hand-carved bone tools, likely used as awls or grainers, showing natural ossified textures. The leather remains supple but shows minor surface cracking and honest wear consistent with field use, while the beadwork remains remarkably tight with only minor stray threads. Belt: L 37.5″, W 1.25″. Sheath: L 18″, W 2.75″. Knife: L 10.25″. Pouch: L 12.5″, W 1.75″. Bone Tools: L 6″. Please see photos.
