Lot 2480:
Description
Lot of two early 20th century Belgian pocket pistols. These smaller framed revolvers were extremely popular from the 1890s through the early 1900s for personal defense. The first revolver displays the markings” “GUARDIAN” on the top of the barrel. There is also a Belgium proof marking on the side of the barrel, indicating it was manufactured in Liege. This revolver has a 2.5” octagonal barrel and a 5-shot cylinder. The second revolver displays the Belgium proof markings on both the frame and cylinder. The star over the G proof marking indicates that the revolver was inspected by Charlier Josef, who worked as a Belgian proof controller from 1928 to 1959. The revolver features a 2.5” round barrel, a 6-shot cylinder, a side loading gate, and a push-rod casing ejector. Both revolvers show a patina throughout, along with scattered surface corrosion, and pitting on the metalwork. The grips show minor handling use and have strong checkering. Both revolvers’ triggers and actions are tight and function properly. The bore on both shows oxidation and the rifling is fair. Please see photos for overall condition. From Donley’s Wild West Town Museum. GUARDIAN: S/N: 85 – Overall Length: 6.5”. Belgium 2: S/N: 3 – Overall Length: 6.25”. C/R Eligible
