Description

Two classic, late 19th to early 20th-century American top-break revolvers, popular for their simple design and quick spent casing ejection. The first is a U.S. Revolver Co. Top-Break Double Action Revolver, manufactured in the U.S.A. (U.S. Revolver Co. was a trade name used by Iver Johnson’s Arms & Cycle Works). The revolver features a 3.25” round barrel, a 5-shot cylinder, and is chambered in .38 caliber. The serial number “5684” is stamped on the frame, under the grip. The second is a Smith & Wesson, top-break, double action revolver. It displays barrel markings “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS U.S.A.” and several patent dates (JULY 11. 82. AUG. 24. 89. FEB. 20. 1877 REISSUE JULY 25. 1872 & DEC. 18. 1877). It features a 3.5″ round barrel, a 5-shot cylinder, and is chamber in .32 caliber. The serial, “1840” is stamped on the butt of the frame. Both revolvers have a nickel finish that shows surface rust, pitting, and loss of original finish throughout. One side of the U.S. Revolver’s grip is broken. The Smith and Wesson’s trigger and action are tight and function properly. The U.S. Revolver trigger and action needs adjusting/repair. The bores are clean, and the rifling is prominent on both.
