Description

Lot of two American pocket revolvers from the late 19th or early 20th century. The first is a Hopkins & Allen Double Action No. 6 Revolver made by the Hopkins & Allen Arms Co. of Norwich, CT. It features a 2.5” octagonal barrel, a 6-shot cylinder, and a distinctive checkered wood grip with the H&A logo medallion. The top of the frame displays the inscription “DOUBLE ACTION No 6 / HOPKINS & ALLEN ARMS CO. / NORWICH. CONN. USA”. This model is chambered in .32 caliber. The second revolver is a H&R Double Action Model 04, clearly marked “H&R Double Action / Model 04.32.6 Shot” on the top of the frame. The barrel displays the markings H&R Arms Company / Worcester, Mass. U.S.A. / 32 S.& W.CTGE” The H&R features a 2.5” octagonal barrel, a 6-shot cylinder, a steel, black hard rubber grips, and is chambered in .32 caliber. Both revolvers have a nickel finish that shows wear consistent with age, including areas of patina, scattered pitting, and loss of original finish, though the markings on both are still relatively crisp. Both pieces triggers and actions are tight and function properly. The bore on the H&R shows oxidation, while the H&A bore is clean. The rifling is prominent on both.
