Description

A fantastic example of a Forehand & Wadsworth top-break, hammerless, double-action pocket revolver, from the late 19th to the early 20th century. Used as a personal defense or ‘pocket’ pistol during its time, this revolver features a 3.5” barrel chambered in .38 S&W, and a 5-shot cylinder. The barrel is clearly marked with the manufacturer and the patents: PAT. JAN 11. NOV. 29’87. JAN 3′ 88. It features a bright, nickel-plated finish that has aged to a pleasing patina with some loss, particularly on the frame’s edges and cylinder flutes. The grips are black hard rubber with a stylized checkering pattern, a star medallion, and the Forehand & Wadsworth logo. The grips are in overall good condition, showing a small chip at the bottom of the right grip. The bore is in good condition, showing no freckling or oxidation, and the rifling is prominent. The trigger and action are tight and function properly. Please see photos for overall condition. From Donley’s Wild West Town Museum. Overall length: 7.25” S/N: 4247. C/R Eligible
