Lot 2465:
Description
Manufactured in Germany in the early-20th Century, this little 9mm pocket revolver was designed as a personal protection pistol that would be seen in homes or in the pocket of anyone in a bustling city. These revolvers were much like the “British Bulldog” revolvers in many ways, though certainly of a higher quality. This revolver features a 3.25” octagonal barrel, a 6-shot cylinder, a loading gate, a push-rod casing ejector, and a sliding safety. The frame and barrel clearly show the German proof marking of a crown, crown over a “U”. The full serial number “833” is inscribed on the butt of the frame, under the grip, and on the cylinder. The one-piece wood grip displays a checkered pattern and is good condition. The blued finish displays overall oxidation, pitting, and patina, characteristic with age and use. The bore shows light oxidation, however the rifling is prominent. The trigger and action are tight and function properly. The safety lever needs tightening. Please see photos for overall condition. From Donley’s Wild West Town Museum. Overall length: 7.75” S/N: 833. C/R Eligible.
