Description

Mid-19th-century Allen & Thurber six-shot pepperbox percussion pistol chamber in .32 caliber and featuring 4.25-inch ribbed barrels. Manufactured in Worcester, Massachusetts, this pistol, also know as the “Baby Dragoon” showcases a bar-hammer design distinctly stamped “ALLEN’S PATENT 1845” along the side, while the barrel cluster is crisply marked “ALLEN & THURBER WORCESTER”. The steel frame and backstrap display elegant, original scroll engravings that flow into smooth, polished walnut bag-shaped grips. This piece is in solid antique condition, showing a natural dark patina across the iron components with some expected scattered pitting and minor oxidation blemishes. The wood grips remain structurally sound with beautiful original coloration, minor surface dings, and honest handling wear consistent with its age. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. The bore does show some oxidation. Please see photos for overall condition. Classified Antique.
