Lot 2327:
Description
This is a charming vintage woven wicker Canada goose decoy, likely a mid-20th-century folk art or decorative piece rather than a functional hunting tool. The construction features a classic two-piece design with a removable neck, expertly woven using natural fibers with a split-tone finish: a dark, charcoal-black weave for the head and neck—complete with characteristic white “cheek” patches—and a weathered, natural grey-beige for the body. The craftsmanship highlights a tapering tail and a sturdy, hollow interior. Condition is fair; the body shows some breakage and weaving loss at the base of the chest/underbody area, and while the head is generally intact, there is some visible wicker damage and fraying specifically at the base of the neck. H 19” with head attached, W 10″, D 23″. Please see photos.
