Description
This exceptionally rare and early Columbia Phonograph Company brown wax 2-minute cylinder record captures a historic 1897 performance of “The Night Alarm” played by the Columbia Orchestra catalog No. 5063. Includes a hand-written identification slip. Objectively, the wax cylinder is structurally sound and stable with no cracks or breaks, though it shows significant surface oxidation, mold spotting, and typical aging common to organic wax of this era..
