Description
This stunning Art Nouveau desk set, cast in heavy bronze, features a gracefully lounging female figure beside an ornate timepiece. The clock face is signed by the Ansonia Clock Company of New York, a titan of 19th-century American horology known for their artistic and dependable movements. The piece exhibits the fluid, organic lines characteristic of the Belle Époque era, combining functional utility with sculptural elegance. The item shows visible wear to the gilded finish and a beautiful aged patina throughout. Notably, there is a visible break to a finger on the figure’s right hand, and the internal glass or ceramic well for the inkpot is absent. While the clock mechanism is operational, it has not been tested for long-term timekeeping accuracy. H 6.75″, W 9.5″, D 5.5″. Please see photos for condition.
