Description

A fantastic lot of 18 original “Along Broadway: The Edison Musical Magazine” promotional booklets, published by Thomas A. Edison, Inc. in Orange, New Jersey. Dating from 1919 through 1922, these early 20th-century paper periodicals offer a fascinating glimpse into the early recording era, spotlighting prominent Edison Diamond Disc artists like Marie Rappold, Albert Spalding, Anna Case, and Marie Tiffany on their illustrated covers. The front covers feature striking period portraits, while the reverses include artist biographies, phonograph model advertising, and local dealer stamps. The collection exhibits typical signs of age, including minor edge wear, light surface handling, natural paper toning, occasional corner bends, and some vintage dealer markings on the backs, but they remain structurally sound and completely legible, with the notable exception of the October 1920 issue which has a portion of its front cover cut away. H 9″, W 6″, D 0.1″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
