Description
Four complete early 20th-century paper booklets from the Victor Talking Machine Co. of Camden, New Jersey, offering a fascinating look into the Golden Age of disc recording. The grouping includes two rare “Victor Record Catalogue” booklets dated September 1907 featuring the iconic Nipper the dog “His Master’s Voice” trademark and Grand Prize medals, alongside a vibrant “The Victor for Every Day in the Week” promotional children’s booklet, and a highly specialized “Gregorian Records” catalog approved by Pope Pius X. These early advertising ephemera items are historically significant marketing materials printed on paper stock, which served as the primary connection between early phonograph owners and the burgeoning home entertainment industry. Objectively assessing their condition, the collection shows moderate, age-appropriate wear including visible edge chips, small corner tears, minor creasing, surface smudging, and noticeable water staining or foxing on the covers and reverse sides, though all text and imagery remain completely legible and intact. The two large 1907 catalogs and the Gregorian catalog measure H 6 1/8″, W 3.5″, D 0.1″, and the smaller Victor booklet measures H 5″, W 3.5″, D 0.1″. See photos.
