The Allen Koenigsberg Phonograph Collection
Lot 3477:
Description
This rare early 20th-century promotional brochure and poster, published by the Educational Department of the Victor Talking Machine Co. of Camden, New Jersey, highlights the use of Victor Talking Machines and records in American schools. One side functions as a detailed catalog featuring recommended educational records, the Victor Book of the Opera, and the “Victor XXV” school phonograph. The reverse folds out into an impressive large-format pictorial display titled “The future of our national music rests with the schools,” showcasing photographs of children utilizing Victor products in over 2700 cities. Crafted from vintage paper, this piece shows moderate age wear, including light creasing, minor edge tears, and clean splits along some of the original fold lines, but the graphics and text remains bright and legible. H 15.5″, W 22.5″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allan Koenigsberg collection.
