The Allen Koenigsberg Phonograph Collection
Lot 3349:
Description
This turn-of-the-century antique quarter-sawn oak phonograph record cabinet designed specifically to house an extensive Edison cylinder collection. The unique double-door design on either side of its long edges opens to reveal a complete set of internal wooden pegs, providing dual-sided storage capacity that holds up to 144 total records (72 per side). Complete with its original working locks and a functioning barrel key. Assessing its physical condition, the piece displays signs of an incomplete historical refinishing effort; it shows overall surface wear, finish fading, and moderate wood separation. Specifically, one corner leg has pieces missing from it, the molding at the base is missing along one side, a central panel requires gluing where it has separated, and the doors require adjustment to close fully square. H 35.5″, W27.5″, D 19″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available Post-Auction.
