Description
Phonograph cylinder record cabinet with a dark stained veneer finish, the cabinet features classic serpentine-front drawers, graceful fluted pilasters topped with carved capital accents, and ornate brass-toned pulls that capture the Late Victorian aesthetic. The drawers feature integrated wooden pegs for cylinder records. Drawers 1 through 5 retain all of their original upright cylinder storage pegs perfectly in position, while the lowest drawer includes a large collection of loose storage tubes that have detached from the base but are confirmed to be complete. This historic piece shows heavy, age-appropriate wear throughout, including surface scratches and scuffs to the top, notable cracking and separation of the veneer across the drawer fronts, a missing piece of trim veneer on the lower-left edge of the fifth drawer, loose peg holders in the bottom drawer that require re-gluing, and water damage to the bottom of the lowest drawer that will likely require gluing and fixing.
