Description

This antique American Tiger Oak cylinder record cabinet, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, features a beautifully figured quarter-sawn oak top and front. Designed specifically for storing Edison or Columbia phonograph cylinders, the chest features six drawers, though the interior cardboard peg/cylinder holders have been removed. The piece is accented by ornate brass pull knobs and rests on classic claw-and-ball feet, showcasing a wonderful Golden Oak era style. Objectively, the cabinet shows expected surface wear, light scratches, and scuffs from age and use. The drawers slide properly. There is a vertical split on the front left paw foot that remains structurally sound but could easily be re-glued. H 35″, W 23.5″, D 20″. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available Post-Auction.
