Description
Quartersawn oak Edison phonograph cylinder record cabinet, dating to the late 1900s or early 1910s. Features six drawers with ornate, decorative brass pulls and integrated escutcheons. The top drawer retains its original wood peg/cylinder holders capable of holding 42 individual wax cylinders, while the lower drawer bottoms show the historical staining where these peg inserts originally sat. Overall, the piece displays a beautiful tiger oak grain throughout. In terms of condition, the top veneer panel has de laminated and warped but remains complete for re-gluing, the front left foot has a notable wood chip, the second drawer from the bottom is missing its cylinder holder insert, and the bottom drawer is currently jammed and does not open fully; however, all drawers lock and the original key is included.
