Description
Sheet music cabinet is constructed from oak with a rich, dark stained finish. The cabinet features a traditional rectangular top with a dentil or rope-molding trim below the edge, five stacked drawers designed to hold sheet music or small documents, and distinctive cast metal bail handles with ornate, rococo-style back plates. The side panels are decorated with a carved or composition applique motif featuring a classical torch centered within a laurel wreath, and the piece rests on cabriole-style front legs with pad feet. The back is constructed of flat wooden panels as seen in photo and the interior of the drawers shows standard machine-dovetail or pinned construction with plywood or solid wood bottoms as shown in image 2. Objectively, the piece exhibits moderate wear consistent with age and use, including surface scratches, scuffs, and abrasions across the top surface, along the edges, and around the base, alongside some fading and localized discoloration to the finish.
