Description
Puck “Lyre Base” cylinder phonograph in good original condition. Puck style phonographs were popular in the 1900-06 period and were cheaply made open works machines with fancy cast iron bases and were usually given away as premiums. This machine was made in by German toy maker, Georges Carette & Co. as evidenced by the G.C. & Co. on the base. Machine winds and runs but needs a new string for the drive. The mandrel spins freely. The reproducer is missing the stylus. 12” tin plate horn in good condition. Measures 14”long, 5.5” wide, 11.5” tall to the top of the horn. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
