Description
The “Mermaid” or “Siren” Puck Phonograph is an Art Nouveau-style wax cylinder player manufactured primarily in Germany and France around 1900 to 1911. These small inexpensive open works style phonographs were usually given away as premiums. This machine is in VG original condition with good plating and original paint on the cast iron Mermaid base. Machine winds and runs but needs a new string for the drive. The mandrel spins freely. The reproducer is in VG condition. The horn is 12” nickel plated tin and is in VG condition. The pin on the horn mount has been replaced with a nail. Measures 12” long, 7” wide, 11” tall to the top of the horn. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
