Firearms and Ammo Auction
Lot 1191:
Description
This 1965 Belgian-manufactured semi-automatic rifle is a prime example of the high-quality sporting arms produced by Fabrique Nationale (FN) for the Browning Arms Company. The serial number 3058 X5 marked under barrel. Suffix “X5” confirms its 1965 production date, placing it firmly in the desirable era of Belgian craftsmanship before production shifted to Japan in the 1970s. This “wheel-sight” era collectible features a rich walnut stock, a unique bottom-ejection port magazine, and the distinctive “St. Louis & Montreal” barrel address. The newly provided imagery clearly displays the authentic Belgian proof marks on the bolt, including the “Lion over PV” (smokeless powder proof) and the “Perron” tower mark, further cementing its heritage. The firearm is in good overall condition; while the bolt shows some oxidation and use, the receiver bluing remains largely intact with typical thinning. The wood stock displays minor field scratches and light compressions consistent with a vintage field rifle of this age. H 4.25″, W 39.25″, D 2.5″. S/N 3058 X5; C&R eligible. Please see photos for condition.
