Firearms and Ammo Auction
Lot 1185:
Description
This is a beautiful example of a vintage, custom-fitted hard leather takedown case, specifically designed for the iconic Remington Model 8 or 81 Woodsmaster rifles. A true find for the serious firearms collector, this case features a rigid, construction with rich, deep brown leather and classic Western-style floral and geometric tooling on the main body. The brass hardware (buckles and D-ring) remains intact, and the top-loading cap is secured by a heavy-duty leather strap. Stamped markings “1756F” and “26” are visible on the closure caps. The interior is lined with green felt and is divided to safely house the barreled action and the stock assembly separately. Overall, leather is in good, supple condition with a lovely aged patina; there is some light scuffing and surface wear consistent with field use. The case also comes with a brass cleaning rod designed for the firearm. L 28.75″, W 8″, D 3.75″
