Description

A classic John Browning-designed Remington Model 8 semi-automatic rifle, famously known as the rifle of choice for lawman Frank Hamer, the man that took down Bonnie and Clyde. Manufactured in 1913, this particular rifle features a 22-inch barrel, chambered in .30-30 (.30 Rem). The rifle has a deep blued finish on the receiver and barrel jacket, a straight-grip walnut stock, and the iconic “Remington UMC” checkered buttplate. The receiver is marked with serial number 32641. Bluing remains strong with light surface scratches and minor thinning at the high edges. The walnut furniture is in great condition and displays a rich patina with scattered small dings and compression marks. Bore is clean and rifling is good. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. This “long-recoil” action rifle represents a pivotal moment in American firearms history as the first commercially successful high-power semi-auto. It would highlight any collection. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: 32641. C&R Eligible.
