Description
This is an excellent group of six stemmed lithic projectile points, which I would categorize as classic Archaic period artifacts. They are crafted from various grades of chert and flint, displaying a rich color palette ranging from light tan to dark brown. The collection includes a variety of stemmed base styles and blade forms, demonstrating different regional or temporal variations within the broader Archaic tradition. Each point shows legible collector or site markings, which add provenance value: “15/BM94”, “8M94”, “40A7-13”, “15C 8M91”, “NCB7-5”, and “37” are all visible, sometimes appearing on the front and back of the same piece. The condition is superb given their age; the points are intact with no modern damage, exhibiting only the expected wear, ancient chips, and patination consistent with centuries of burial.
