Description
This circa 1920s Apache Tus water vessel showcases the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the Apache people. Featuring a bulbous base and narrow neck it is constructed using a coiled basketry technique and coated with a pine pitch On the interior and exterior for waterproofing. The two handles are braided horsehair, traditionally used on these types of vessels. The overall condition of the object is good and the pine pitch coating is stable. Dimensions: 11” tall x 8.25” diameter at waist x 3.75” diameter mouth. See photos.
