Description

. What a wonderful, life-sized piece of outdoor sculpture—this is a classic example of the charming, high-quality bronze garden art produced by Elite by Henri (a line from Henri Studio, founded by Eneri Prosperi, originally of Tuscany and based in Illinois). The firm is well-known for their cast stone and, more recently, their bronze works, which are often produced using the lost-wax casting method. This specific tableau, featuring a young boy balancing precariously on a log while his faithful, shaggy-haired dog leads the way, is a beautiful celebration of childhood adventure and companionship. The style is late 20th to early 21st-century garden realism. The material is heavy patinated bronze, evident from the beautiful, uniform verdigris finish that has developed from outdoor exposure. The sculpture is clearly marked “BRONZE Elite by Henri” on a plaque near the base. The overall condition is good, consistent with long-term outdoor display. The verdigris patina is deep and rich, with some natural variation and darker areas where water has collected (like the crack/crevice on the log). There are no major breaks or missing pieces.
