Description

This is a phenomenal, massive cast bronze sculpture, likely from the late 20th or early 21st century, executed in a popular life-like, Coastal or Marine Art style. The piece depicts five dolphins—a pod—leaping dynamically over a rocky base, a classic subject for high-impact garden or poolside décor. It is visibly marked “Bronze Elite by Henri,” identifying it as a product of Henri Studio, a major manufacturer of cast stone and bronze fountains and statuary in the United States, known for accessible, large-scale bronze works. The piece features a striking natural verdigris or green patina, characteristic of weathered outdoor bronze, which beautifully highlights the anatomical detail of the marine mammals and the texture of the rock base. The overall condition is excellent for an outdoor piece of this size, exhibiting the expected, attractive natural patina and surface wear consistent with prolonged outdoor placement. The dolphins themselves appear free of significant chips or cracks. Two visible circular ports near the base, along with the dynamic, splashing-water pose, strongly suggest this piece was originally designed as a large-scale fountain sculpture. The sheer size and weight of this piece make it an imposing and impressive focal point. H 37″, W 55″, D 43″. See photos. NOTE: Pickup/transport required. Contacts available post auction.
