Modern manufacture? Dutch Klewang military and naval cutlass. With brown leather scabbard, w/brass tip and leather swivel mount. High quality and in excellent condition. Blade is sharp, and has a protective grease coating on it. Slightly curved 24” blade. It has a short false edge with notched point and large fuller down the center. Grips are painted wood with three screws securing handles. Large iron basket. A nice example of an obscure Dutch sword that originally had a 50 year use in the Dutch colonies in the Pacific from the late 1890’s to the late 1940’s. Total length in scabbard: 30.5” and sword overall: 29.5” Please see photos. This model was also made for the US Navy by Lilley-Ames circa 1941-1942. The grips on this example do not follow the pattern of those US made versions. Further research would be required.
