Description
Model M1851 belt buckle worn by U.S. NCO’s during the Indian Wars. Measuring 3″ wide by 2-1/8” tall. Stamped brass. NCO buckles had the nickel wreath added, in this case, painted silver over the cast wreath. Central image of 13 stars with rays above and right-facing eagle below “E Pluribus Unum” banner on a pebbled background. No other markings. Overall condition is very good. This buckle was part of the Civil War and Indian War display at Donley’s Wild West Town Museum for 45 years.
