Description
Original CDV of Union General Henry Wager Halleck.
“Henry Halleck” written in pencil on back. Overall a nice image in near fine condition. Measures: 2-1/2”x 4”. Halleck was the General-in-Chief of the Armies of the U.S. between 1862 and 1864, and then became Chief of Staff for the remainder of the war when Ulysses S. Grant was appointed to the position. His nickname “Old Brains” was one that was derogatory, but memorable. This CDV was part of the Civil War and Indian War display at Donley’s Wild West Town Museum for 45 years.
