Description
A 1/16th plate ambrotype portrait of a young man. His cheeks are slightly rosy, and his gaze is straight at the camera. Plate measures 1-3/8 x 1-5/8″. It is kept in a small hinged case with green velvet lining, and exterior decoraton of a naval soldier on the deck of a ship holding the Stars and Stripes in one hand and a tube in the other, next to a cannon The case has a pressure clasp that keeps it shut. Patent label behind photo in case. Overall dimensions: 2-1/16″ x 1-13/16″ x9/16″. See photos. This portrait was part of the Civil War and Indian War display at Donley’s Wild West Town Museum for 45 years.
