Description
This kepi has a soft black blue wool and has holes and outline of crossed swords on the top. The front has letter “E” with single vertical prong holding it in. The “E” has rich dark patina. The visor has slight curve to center and has very fine crazing to top and tarred underside has glossy crazing. The chinstrap buttons are matching thicker neck and highly detailed eagle buttons. The leather chinstrap has crazing and the center buckle shows pitting and pleasing dark patina, The sweatband in ribbed pattern leather and has light brown cotton lining. Bottom of lining has Taylor of Boston star logo that is for Charles Taylor of Boston. We welcome comments to the era of the manufacturer logo. The wool body has much wear and some mothing scattered throughout. The puckered brown lining is partly unsewn and sweatband cardboard has come loose. The kepi is good plus condition and displays very well.
