Civil War Auction
Lot 28:
This is a semi identified grouping with of two photos of Union soldier from Pennsylvania. One uniform with the 1st Division 2nd Corps red clover cap badge patch and the other later in life, his actual cloth badge. The badge is red felt with ribbed metal “1” device held in place with short prongs. All sewn to cut piece of his kepi. Also has display text sign. The back on kepi piece is much darker. The CDV photo shows badge on kepi. CDV is from Altoona Pa. and Portrait Photo is from Duncannon, Pa. Both have old tape residue on back. There is some good research possibilities with this grouping.
