We can see “XX” on the back. The lining has sheen brown fabric lining and it has name and address on the inside crown. Most of the writing is hard to read. The only part which is clear is “Boston” at the end. By word structure, it is Name, street address and city. The wool felt 3rd Corps insignia is a very rich and dark royal blue and machine stitched to cap. Bugle insignia has 3 soldered prongs with only the two side ones being used. Overall condition is very good. The name in the lining only needs the right study and investigation to identify the owner.
