Description
This drum style cider wood Confederate canteen is in solid condition with remnants of an old shoulder sling. and is marked on one side “J. D. Burgin 26th PA Regt. and another with line through it and can assume it was rebel owner. It then was captured and marked “W.S.G. Co. C 60th Reg NYSV 12th Army Corps”. The canteen may have a wood preservative that gives a semi gloss. The condition is very good and shows age and wear. The research possibilities are low hanging fruit for any serious collector between the 2 owners of this canteen.
