Description
Made by the Commercial Art Shop in Covington Kentucky circa 1930’s, this lotis a cardboard theater that sets up inside of an upright phonograph and has several characters that "Dance" as the record plays using the motion of the turntable. It is a pretty elaborate setup. In VG condition, it comes with the "theater", 4 dancing figures including Shuffling Sambo, Tramp Comedian, Scotch Lassie, and Hawaiian Dancer. Comes in original cardboard box. Also included in this lot is a Matthews Empire Theatre of Varieties made in England. It is a child’s fold up cardboard theater with articulated cardboard figures for children to put on their own shows. In fair condition with figures and stage. Original box present but in poor condition.
