Description
This fascinating late 19th-century relic features a recording of “Selections from La Mascotte” performed by the legendary Gilmore’s Band. An excellent piece of early audio history, the set includes the brown wax musical cylinder alongside its cardboard storage tube with a protective paper cap. Visually, the cylinder exhibits a heavy amount of surface mold, oxidation, and expected aging throughout, which will likely affect playability. The cardboard storage tube shows light toning and minor edge wear consistent with its age. H 4.5″, W 2.75″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
