Phonograph Records And Books Auction - ONLINE ONLY
Lot 2035:
Description
A fantastic lot for the early phonograph and sound recording enthusiast, featuring a collection of The Edison Phonograph Monthly exact reproductions compiled by Wendell Moore and published by Pennant Litho, Inc. out of Louisville, Kentucky. These highly informative hardbound volumes (including two copies of Vol. I, Vol. II, and Vol. III spanning the 1903–1906 eras) are numbered limited editions (Book Nos. 719, 721, 518, and 760) originally released in the late 1970s, offering an invaluable deep dive into early talking machine history, advertising, and corporate insights. Also included in this lot is a remarkably rare, antique 1879 edition of Edison and His Inventions edited by J.B. McClure and published by Rhodes & McClure of Chicago, which serves as an incredible primary source from the dawn of the electrical age. The books exhibit minor shelf wear, light corner bumping, and typical age toning to the pages, with the 1879 volume showing heavier, age-appropriate wear to its cloth boards and spine edges, but remaining structurally intact. H 3.5″, W 7″, D 10″. Please see photos for condition.
