Description

This five-piece collection features the iconic advertising mascot Nipper, a fox terrier celebrated for his role in the “His Master’s Voice” campaign for RCA Victor. The grouping showcases a pair of mid-century porcelain salt and pepper shakers with a glossy glaze, retaining both original underside cork stoppers, alongside a slightly smaller pair of injection-molded vintage plastic Nipper figures. The focal point of the lot is an early 20th-century composition chalkware promotional statue incised with “Victor” on one side of its base and “J.B. Archambault” on the reverse, representing the historic, prominent piano and electronics retailer based in Montreal, Canada who distributed these as counter displays. Objectively assessing the condition from the photos, the porcelain shakers exhibit light age-related crazing and minor paint wear to the collars; the plastic figures show a distinct color variance where one is significantly more yellowed than the other, and one is missing its underside plug. The fragile chalkware figurine displays an authentic, weathered patina with expected surface dirt accumulation, minor paint flaking on the coat, and small chips concentrated along the sharp edges of the base. Porcelain Shakers: H 3.5″, W 2.75″, D 1.75″, Plastic Shakers: H 3″, W 2.25″, D 1.25″, Chalk Figurine: H 4.25″, W 3.25″, D 2.25″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
