Coin Op & Advertising - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 3
Lot 2244:
Description
This is a classic American-made floor loom, a fine example of the craftsmanship associated with Norwood Looms. Based on the “Fremont Mich” marking on the cast metal ratchet, this particular piece was manufactured between 1974 and 1996, during the period when Ted and Nancy Johnson operated the company. The frame is constructed from solid cherry, a hallmark of domestic Norwood production before operations moved overseas in 1996. The loom features a multi-harness design with metal heddles and a robust manual shedding mechanism. It includes the warp beam, beater bar, and trademark metal ratchets and pawls. Objectively, the cherry wood retains a warm, deep patina with only minor surface scratches and localized wear consistent with active studio use. The metal components show some light oxidation but remain structurally sound. H 47″, W 58″, D 36″. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/ Transport required. Contacts available post auction.
