Description
WWII German 3.7cm Flak Ammo Cases & Shell
This fascinating pairing includes two distinct WWII-era German military transport containers and a 3.7cm Flak shell casing. The first container is a "Luftwaffen-Munition" transit chest, constructed of pressed paper with leather and wood handles, specifically labeled for 3.7cm explosive cartridges. The second is a stamped metal "Patronenkasten" with a distinctive radial reinforcement pattern on the lid and a folding wooden handle. Included is a 3.7cm Flak 18/36/37 with steel casing with clear "arx" (Mannesmann-Röhrenwerke) and "WaA" Waffenamt stamps dated 1944 on base. Both cases show significant field wear, including fraying to the paper lid, oxidation on metal components, and scuffing, while the shell casing shows typical surface patination and minor pitting. H 9", W 15", D 10" (pressed paper box); H 5.5", W 17", D 16" (metal case). Please see photos.
