Description
Winchester Model 1885 High Wall with serial number “28484”. This is a single shot, falling block action rifle, caliber 40-30 WCF. The butt stock and forward stock are made of walnut, which is in fair condition, showing handling and storage marks, small nicks and small holes throughout both from past ornamental accessories. CONN, U.S.A” at the top of the barrel. The barrel also displays the caliber markings “40-30” near the receiver.
The rear adjustable sight is missing and there is a fixed dovetail front sight. The bore is clean and has good rifling. The action moves smoothly and is tight. The overall length of the rifle is 37.25 inches.
