Old West & Native American Auction
Lot 1295:
Description
This piece, a quintessential Arts and Crafts side or end table, is a superb example of early 20th-century American furniture design. The wood grain visible on the legs and skirt is characteristic of Quarter-Sawn White Oak, which was highly favored in the era for its beautiful ray flake figure. The table’s clean, straight lines and simple, practical form are hallmarks of the style. A partially legible paper label affixed to the underside identifies the manufacturer as Limbert Arts and Crafts Furniture, originating from Grand Rapids, Holland (Michigan). The furniture is included. The condition is fair, showing significant wear commensurate with age and use. The top surface has extensive finish loss and discoloration, suggesting it needs refinishing. There are expected minor scratches, dings, and surface abrasions throughout the piece. The overall structure appears solid, and the manufacturer’s label is still partially present, which is a major bonus for collectors. H 17.5″, W 12″, D 12″.
