Description

This is a beautiful example of an early 20th Century Arts and Crafts or Mission style lamp/end table, crafted from quartersawn oak. The distinctive tiger-stripe ray fleck grain on the tabletop is highly desirable and is characteristic of high-quality pieces from this era. The table features a simple, square top, a single dovetailed drawer with a wooden pull, and a curvaceous lower shelf supported by four tapered legs. The robust construction and straightforward design embody the Arts and Crafts ethos. While there are no visible manufacturer marks beyond what appears to be a faint stamp or marking under the drawer bottom “10” and a handwritten ‘6’ underneath it, the style is strongly reminiscent of works by makers like Stickley or Limbert. The condition is good vintage, showing expected wear for its age, including surface scratches and darkening of the finish, particularly to the wood around the drawer opening and the dark finish on the inner drawer box, though the highly figured top surface remains structurally sound and visually appealing.
