Description

This is a fascinating collection of 11 assorted chipped stone projectile points, commonly referred to as arrowheads, though many of the larger pieces are likely atlatl dart points. The group showcases a variety of materials, including light tan, reddish-brown, and gray cherts or flints, and an interesting range of styles, from serrated, triangular blades to stemmed and side-notched forms, suggesting they span multiple prehistoric cultural periods. Several pieces have catalog numbers or small painted markings (such as “S 1,” “S 5,” and “Q 1 R 45″) which denote they were part of a collector’s inventory. The overall condition is good, consistent with prehistoric tools that exhibit expected patina, edge wear, and occasional ancient fractures from use and recovery. There is no major post-excavation damage visible, though the chalk-like markings on some points obscure a small portion of the material. H 1.5″, W 0.75” (Longest point/Widest point – estimated max/min dimensions based on user input). From the Native American display in Donley’s Wild West Town.
