Description
These charming glazed ceramic figures are classic examples of Chinese “Mudman” pottery, likely dating to the mid-20th century. The taller figure depicts a traveling immortal or sage carrying a large coin and a peach, symbolizing wealth and longevity, while the smaller seated figure portrays a contemplative elder with a traditional straw hat. Both pieces showcase the characteristic expressive faces and vibrant Sancai-style lead glazes in green, blue, and yellow. The figures are accompanied by carved wooden display bases, both bearing “Made in China” labels. The items are in good vintage condition with some minor glaze pops and shelf wear consistent with age; there is a small visible surface flake on the back of the taller figure’s green robe.
