Hand-Carved Wooden Folk Art – George White, likely the rival gunslinger who lost the duel against the standing cowboy, leaving behind his hat and twin revolvers on the ground OR could just be the woodcarver’s inside joke, artist carved “VIT” in bottom, initials of a talented regional woodcarver that has deep roots in waterfowl decoy carving, the texture work on the clothing and boots strongly mimics the “feather texturing” techniques used by wildlife carvers to give wooden birds a realistic look before paint is applied, figurines have been in storage for 40 years, were going to be put on display at Donley’s Wild West Town, minor scuffs, good condition, 12″ x 6 1/2″
